Donor Spotlight: Alexis Lopez

An immigrant and student at Wekiva High School, Alexis López recalls his mother pushing him to join the youth group at Hope CommUnity Center. Despite feeling resistant towards the idea, he eventually joined Sin Fronteras (Without Borders) Youth Group. Through the youth group, he attributes Hope for helping him learn English and giving him the opportunity to meet many influential people in his life. During his time at Sin Fronteras, he fulfilled community service hours by tutoring children at Chalet North and supporting annual events such as Kids Camp and Toy Sale. López says, “The impact that Hope made in my life was so significant. I think my life would have been different if I wouldn’t have joined the youth group.”

Fast forwarded to the present, Alexis always knew he wanted to give back to Hope because,

“I saw the way they helped people and how welcoming they always made everyone feel. At Hope, I learned the value of giving back.”

With gratitude, Hope CommUnity Center thanks Alexis López for his contribution that will help support the Youth programs. Because of donors like Alexis, Hope will be able to continue impacting the lives of youth and shape the future leaders of tomorrow.
