Hearts for Hope 2019

Hope CommUnity Center’s 7th Annual Hearts for Hope Luncheon was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. We are proud to announce that we had over 300 supporters and new guests attend this year. The Hearts for Hope Luncheon is held to renew interest in Hope CommUnity Center’s work and attract new supporters to the organization. Hope’s goal is to educate attendees and motivate them to help fund Hope CommUnity Center’s operations. In a succinct hour-long program, Hope tells its story by sharing HCC’s history, current projects, and testimonials from those whose lives have been transformed by the organization.

After a wonderful lunch, Dr. Margaret Curran gave a deeply moving talk about her recent experience at the border called Bringing Hope to the Border. Sr. Ann then recognized Margaret Linnane with the Hope and Diversity Award presenting her with flowers, an engraved photo frame, and dinner with the Sisters. After Margaret received a standing ovation from the audience, Sr. Ann spoke about the future of Hope and about continuing the legacy of the Sisters by staying true to the spiritual roots — by fighting for dignity, justice, and mercy. She introduced five young inspiring speakers representing Hope’s different programs and future. Several donors commented that because of the speakers, they ended up giving more than they had intended.

Because of you, Hope will once again be able to offer over $45,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants from Hope. Other monies collected will support programs with the most need.
