Hope Community Center's Statement in Response to Early Outcome of Election

APOPKA, Fla. – Hope CommUnity Center is committed to our democratic process. We oppose any attempt to spread misinformation or fear as a means of threatening said process. At the heart of our democratic tradition is the belief that every vote should be counted, and the will of the people be heard. When we give in to fear and violence, we are further eroding our democratic institutions and threatening the integrity of the vote.  We urge patience and calm as the vote counting continues and results are revealed.  

Whatever the outcome Hope remains unwaveringly committed to the immigrant and working poor communities of Central Florida. 

El Centro ComUnitario de la Esperanza está comprometido con nuestro proceso democrático. Nos oponemos a cualquier intento de difundir información errónea o miedo como forma de amenazar dicho proceso. En el corazón de nuestra tradición democrática está la creencia de que cada voto debe contarse y la voluntad del pueblo debe ser escuchada. Cuando cedemos al miedo y la violencia, estamos erosionando aún más nuestras instituciones democráticas y amenazando la integridad del voto. Les pedimos tener paciencia y calma mientras continúa el conteo de votos y se revelan los resultados.

Cualquiera sea el resultado, El Centro ComUnitario de la Esperanza permanece firmemente comprometido con las comunidades de inmigrantes y trabajadores pobres de la Florida Central.
